Chronology of cameras Beijing Factory
A few months before the death of the Great Helmsman, China, through the importer CCI, presented this camera at the 31st Salon de Paris (1975), or more precisely represented this camera. Phot'Argus specified in its comments that it was an old camera but still successful thanks to its mechanical motor. This motor allows for the advancement of the film for 12 successive shots.
It is a rangefinder, rustic, without exposure metering. It bears a pronounced resemblance to some Japanese cameras, notably the Ricoh, with the large motor wheel.
The bold red ideograms (likely signifying The Great Wall) engraved on its top are hard to miss: with this camera, one does not go unnoticed!
There is an SZ-2, which seems to have no distinguishing features from the first.
